OUR MISSION
To preserve, promote and advance within American society the traditional music and culture of German-speaking lands.
OUR VISION
The The German American Musicians Association is recognized by The Federation of German-American Societies of Buffalo New York and Vicinity as an official musical organization within the Greater Buffalo area entrusted:
To promote and cultivate social relationships and fellowship among persons interested in traditional music and culture from the German-speaking lands.
To bring together all musicians interested in the preservation and performance of traditional ethnic music of German-speaking lands and the advancement of that music in American culture.
To cooperate with and support all societies and establishments of similar interests.
Organized in 1933, the German American Musicians Association, Inc. has been dedicated to the preservation of traditional music and culture from the German-speaking lands for 80 years. Through its long history, the German American Musicians Association, Inc. has included many smaller organizations, with widely varying music styles. These days, the Association consists primarily of one major group of musicians who performs as a large brass and wind ensemble, performing the way that many of the pieces were originally heard.
The exciting German American Musicians Blaskapelle (dance band) keeps the dance floor full and the beverages flowing with a fast-paced selection of festive party music! Waltzes, Rheinlanders, Polkas, and traditional Latin favorites from a huge repertory that delights audiences of all ages ? all played with authentic German-Austrian verve and style!
The German American Musicians Konzert-Kapelle is a formal Concert Ensemble, bringing to the stage a wide variety of traditional concert music from central Europe, from marches, standard overtures and selections, to soloists and seasonal music.
The Association is bound together in the tradition of German Gem?tlichkeit which simply means to be in the right place at the right time with the right people doing the right thing. We are a social group! We travel on wine tastings, we attend events, and basically have a great time when not on stage. Our Auxiliary Boosters club is a great opportunity for non-musicians to take part in our Association and the German-speaking culture!
The various music groups of the Association have delighted devotees of traditional cultural music not only in Western New York, but also all over the Northeast, in Canada, and even in Europe!
The German American Musicians Association, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit organization whose goal is the cultivation and performance of traditional music and culture from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein.
